Community Care with The Properties of Light!

Please join the Properties of Light in supporting He She Ze and We's new Trans Wellness Fund that supports access to gender affirming care for youth across Virginia.  💓 In our community care efforts, we try to uplift opportunities to redistribute financial resources to funds that give directly to folks in need of mutual aid, rather than funds that sustain organizational work.

There’s a lot of things in the world that are unclear right now. Here’s what we do know: 

• We trust our community. 
• Our community deserves access to the medical care they need. 
• Gender-affirming care is necessary medical care. 
• We need flexible options that consider a wide range of access barriers. 
• We will share our process openly and are always open to suggestions for improvement. 

The Trans Wellness Fund will offer direct financial assistance to transgender, nonbinary and gender expansive community members. These funds are specifically intended to assist community members with barriers to gender-affirming medical care. For example: 

• Appointments with healthcare providers needed for gender-affirming care
• Prescriptions or medical supplies
• Logistical support for accessing an affirming provider, including but not limited to, travel, childcare, and lodging.
• Financial coverage for medical procedures
