Maritza's Somos Familia Fun-draiser!

Hey everyone,

As you may know  for the last 6+ years, I've been working with and amazing organization called Somos Familia.

Somos Familia is a community-based organization founded 13 years ago by two moms who wanted to make the world safer and more accepting of our Latinx Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) youth and their families.

Today I am asking you to donate to the cause of Somos Familia so that we can continue with our mission to build leadership in our Latinx families and communities to create a culture where people of diverse genders and sexual orientations can thrive.

I want to share my personal reason why I choose to support Somos Familia is because I have seen first hand how families are impacted by this work.  This year we will be using 50% of the funds raised on Give Out Day for our COVID-19 relief fund, which provides financial assistance to people affected by the pandemic. The other 50% will be used to continue to do the lifesaving work of supporting, educating, and building leadership in LGBTQ+ Latinxs and their families.
