Hi Friends!
I'm raising money for Family Tree Clinic for Give OUT Day, the only national LGBTQ Day of Giving.
For me, being an ally means showing up for trans communities when it matters most, and refusing to comply, pre-emptively or otherwise, with fear, discrimination, or silence at the expense of trans communities.
I am so proud to be part of this incredible, people-powered clinic that has never backed down from doing the right thing.
At this moment in time, attacks on trans healthcare are escalating across the country, and increasingly at the federal level. In 2025, 1,022 anti-trans bills were considered in the United States - the sixth consecutive year of record-breaking totals. Many of these bills weaponize critical federal funding and target healthcare for trans youth, despite overwhelming medical consensus (and more importantly, lived experience) supporting this care.
We need to see these efforts for what they are: one step in a wider, coordinated attack on gender affirming care and on trans people themselves. Trans people deserve better. We all do. Every single one of us belong in the future, and belong right here right now.
Since 1971, Family Tree Clinic has been building the kind of world we all deserve: compassionate, community-centered, and welcoming for all. We were founded by student activists seeking affirming and low-cost sexual health services. This didn't exist, so we created it.
That spirit still drives us today.
Back then the fight may have been around whether or not nurses had to wear skirts (I'm not kidding) - but we know all of our fights along history, and at the intersections of gender and bodily autonomy, are interconnected. We all benefit from a world where we may live our authentic lives free from oppression and discrimination, and access affirming healthcare as is our human right.
As an organization, we are here, and always will be, for our trans communities. And we are prevailing in this moment.
As an independent nonprofit clinic in Minnesota (where we have some of the strongest legal protections for gender and reproductive healthcare), we have a tremendous opportunity to continue leading with our values. And to reimagine healthcare to withstand existential threats. But we can't do it without the support of our community.
It truly takes everyday people like you. People who also want to do the right thing when it matters most.
If you’re able, please join me in supporting Family Tree Clinic for Give OUT Day. Every donation helps keep our care independent and barrier free for the long fight ahead.
To my trans friends, family, coworkers, and community: you are loved, valued, and an inspiration.
Let's celebrate Pride, together!
Thank you so much for your support!
