Out and About Lake County

Group outings and community programs are incredibly important within the LGBTQ+ community because many individuals experience isolation, loneliness, rejection, or a lack of safe and affirming spaces in their everyday lives.

By coming together through support groups, bowling nights, karaoke gatherings, meals, outings, and community events, participants are able to build meaningful friendships, feel accepted, and experience a genuine sense of belonging. These programs create opportunities for people to connect with others who understand and support them without judgment.

We would love to add more inclusive events to our monthly calendar as many of the LGBTQ+ Community tend to keep to themselves.

Social connection plays a major role in emotional wellness and mental health. Having a supportive community can help reduce feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, and isolation while increasing confidence, happiness, and overall well-being.

For many people, these gatherings become more than just events — they become a chosen family and a reminder that they are not alone. Creating safe, welcoming spaces where individuals can laugh, socialize, and simply be themselves has a lasting positive impact on mental health and quality of life.
